Khanlar Allahverdiyev Khanlar
Date and place of birth: March 9, 1947, Ganja city

Education:
From 1965 to 1970, he received higher education at the Energy Faculty of the Azerbaijan Institute of Oil and Chemistry.

Chess career and coaching activity:

  • Has been involved in chess since 1960.

  • In 1964, he won first place at the USSR zonal championship held in Kishinev.

  • In 2015 and 2017, a significant portion of the medals won by Azerbaijani players at the European and World Championships belonged to his students.

  • Over the years, he has trained numerous international masters, FIDE Masters (FM), Candidate Masters (CM), first-rank players, and winners and medalists of both international and national tournaments.

Public and professional activity:

  • Actively participated in the development of the State Program for the Development of Chess.

  • Member of the commission of the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

  • Serves as an expert at entrance exams at the Azerbaijan State Institute of Physical Education and Sport.

  • Since 2004, he has been working as a chess coach-instructor in the "Chess and Intellectual Games" section of the Azerbaijan Trade Unions Sports Organizations Association.

  • December 21, 2023 — Awarded the "Progress" Medal by the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev for his services to the development of sports in Azerbaijan (presented in Khankendi city)
