Niyazi Mammadov, a leading specialist of the (AHIITA), participated in the “Kuru kechek ! ” open water swimming competition held in Mingachevir city, organized by the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Azerbaijan. This competition is aimed at developing swimming in our country, promoting a healthy lifestyle and increasing young people’s interest in sports. The participation of AHIITA representatives in such events is of great importance both in terms of supporting the sports movement and strengthening experience and cooperation.

On August 28, 2025, as part of the expedition organized under the leadership of the mountaineering coach of the Association of Trade Unions and Sports Organizations of Azerbaijan (AHIITA), Sirkhan Mammadov, our mountaineers successfully climbed Mount Kazbek (5054 m) in Georgia. The expedition team consisted of 6 Azerbaijani mountaineers and an additional group of 3 people from Turkey. Despite the strong wind, cold and severe weather conditions, the participants, who overcame the long and difficult route, once again proved their endurance and willpower by conquering the mountain. This mountaineering trip was not only a sporting success, but also the embodiment of international friendship and solidarity. On behalf of AHIITA, we would like to thank the expedition team, especially the friends who joined from Turkey. Their participation made the trip even more meaningful and memorable.

As part of the cooperation between the Cycling Federation of Azerbaijan (AzVIF) and the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan, a new project was launched, which will contribute to the development of cycling in the regions. Speaking at the event, the first vice-president of the Azerbaijan Cycling Federation, Sahib Alekperov, emphasized that this project is of particular importance for the future of cycling in our country, and spoke about the tasks facing the trainers: "The main goal of these trainings is to support the development of sports in the regions and create conditions for the training of qualified trainers. This is of great importance both for the physical health of children and youth, and for the effective organization of their leisure time. I am sure that the coaches participating in the courses will play an important role in attracting young people to sports in the future and discovering new talents. Deputy Minister of Science and Education Hasan Hasanly noted that cycling is also important from the point of view of a healthy lifestyle: "The development of this sport among schoolchildren and young people will have a positive effect on both their physical and psychological health. The courses opened by us will contribute to the formation of professional personnel in the regions and the introduction of a new generation to sports in the future. In addition, the project will have a positive effect on the recognition of regions. Elnur Mammadov, head of the sports department of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, touched on the importance of training new trainers. He noted that similar projects will give a big boost to mass sports in the regions. The executive director of the National Anti-Doping Agency of Azerbaijan (AMADA) Tahmina Tagizade said that the employees of her organization will hold a special seminar on anti-doping rules for trainers participating in the courses, and are always ready to support them in this direction. Trainers participating in the courses will receive both theoretical knowledge and practical skills. Special attention will be paid to training methods in accordance with international standards, methods of working with athletes and safety rules in cycling. Certificates will be issued to trainers who have successfully completed the 12-day training course and passed the exam. At the initial stage, this pilot project will cover the cities of Ganja and Sumgayit, as well as Gabala, Guba, Agdam Agstafinsky, Goranboy, Tovuz, Goygol and Gadabay districts. In these regions, special cycling sections will be created in sports schools of the Ministry of Science and Education. Trainers with higher education, selected by the Ministry together with the Cycling Federation of Azerbaijan and who want to work in the field of cycling, will work in specially designated places in the Olympic sports complexes of the Ministry of Youth and Sports in these regions. They will receive a salary from the Ministry as full-time employees of the Ministry of Science and Education and will be accountable for their activities both to the Cycling Federation of Azerbaijan and to the relevant bodies of the Ministry. The Federation allocated 20 bicycles for each of the sections, a total of 200 pieces. In the near future, it is planned that this experience will be spread to other cities and regions of the country, and the relevant structures of the Confederation of Trade Unions of Azerbaijan will join this project.

Karatekas of the Association of Sports Organizations of Trade Unions of Azerbaijan (AHIITA) achieved successful results at the international tournament "Marmara Cup" held in Turkey. Our athletes distinguished themselves at the tournament:

* Nuran Rzazade (up to 67 kg) - gold medal

* Madina Sadigova (up to 55 kg) - silver medal

* Fatima Jabrayilova (up to 50 kg) - bronze medal

In these achievements in the international arena, the work of their personal coach, Honored Coach Seymur Khudavediev, should be especially noted. It should be noted that about 2,000 karatekas from 28 countries took part in the competition. The results shown by AHIITA athletes contributed to the overall success of the national team and were of great importance for preparation for the upcoming CIS Games. Turan Dashdemirov, a member of the AHIITA , was remembered for his successful performance at the U20 World Championship held in Samokov, Bulgaria, from August 17 to 24. Our athlete, competing in the 55 kg weight category in Greco-Roman wrestling, confidently advanced to the final match. Turan Dashdemirov, who lost to Iranian Payam Balutaki with a score of 3:5 in the decisive match, was awarded the silver medal of the World Championship. The work of his personal coach, Honored Coach Akif Aliyev, should also be especially emphasized in this success. On August 12 a meeting was held between the AHIITA and AJF on the next prospects of cooperation. The meeting was attended by the  Advisor of the Chairman of the AHIK Nigar Vahabzade, leadership of the AHIITA, Secretary General of the AJF and employees of the Federation. The next joint work was discussed in order to increase the popularity of judo and the interest of teenagers and youth in this sport.

With the support of the AHIK, employees of the AHIITA  participated in a specialization course on modern information technologies. 12 employees of AHIITA participated in the courses organized by Start IT Company from July 7 to August 7 and increased their professional knowledge. The main goal of the training was to improve the digital skills of employees and expand the opportunities for effective use of international software in management and reporting processes. At the end of the training, the participants took exams and were awarded the relevant certificates. It should be noted that such training is planned to be organized continuously in the future to increase the professional knowledge of employees.

At the event the Chairman of the AHIK , Sahib Mammadov congratulated the athletes and their coaches on their determination and winning the gold medal at the European Universities Futsal Championship, and wished them new victories it was noted that the youth and sports policy, founded by the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev, is currently being successfully continued under the leadership of Mr. President Ilham Aliyev. As a result of the purposeful policy, Azerbaijan is considered one of the leading countries in the world in terms of the level of development of sports and the Olympic movement. The Chairman of the AHIK emphasized that the success achieved is a clear example of the state’s care for sports in our country. Deputy Minister of Science and Education of Azerbaijan, President of the Public Union of the Azerbaijan Student Football Federation Firudin Gurbanov noted the role of the AHIK in the team’s success. The Deputy Minister emphasized that the victory of the Academy’s  futsal team over strong rivals In the championship held in Croatia was a historic success. Advisor to the Rector of the Azerbaijan Sports Academy, Vice- President of the National Olympic Committee Farid Mansurov spoke about the attention and care shown to sports in our country and the conditions created for the development of this field. Team members shared their impressions of the championship at the meeting. Futsal players expressed their determination to represent our country worthily in the upcoming competitions and achieve new successes. It should be noted that the futsal team of the Azerbaijan Sport Academy won the tournament, overcoming all its rivals, at the European Universities Futsal Championship held among students in Zagreb, Croatia. Our team player Aghaseyid Seyidov was named the best goalkeeper of the championship. Ali Nazarov who made Azerbaijan and AHIITA proud with his magnificent performance at the U-17 World Championship, was solemnly welcomed today at Heydar Aliyev International Airport.

Ali Nazarov, who competed in the 60 kg weight category at the World Championship held in Athens, Greece from July 28 to August 3, defeated the representative of Kyrgyzstan in the final and won the first gold medal for the Azerbaijani team in the World Cup. The young champion was greeted with great enthusiasm at the airport by the leadership of the AHIITA, representatives of the sports community, coaches, teammates and media. A wreath, the symbol of the winner, was placed around Ali’s neck, our national flag was waved, and congratulations were heard. During the event, the AHIITA leadership congratulated the young athlete on this historic victory and emphasized that the future of Azerbaijani wrestling is bright in his example. At the same time, thanks were also expressed to his personal coach Azer Huseynov, who played a special role in the development of the champion.

At  the U-17 World Championship held in Athens, Greece from July 28 to August 3, the Greco-Roman wrestling representative of the AHIITA  Ali Nazarov (60 kg ) won the title of world champion with a magnificent performance!In the final match, Ali fought confidently against the representative of Kyrgyzstan Amangeldi Ysakbayev and won the first gold medal for the Azerbaijani national team at the U-17 World Championship with a 6;1 victory. We would like to express our special gratitude to Ali Nazarov’s personal coach Azer Huseynov for his support and hard work in this success.

The Azerbaijani team represented our country well at the 32nd Summer Universiade organized by the International University Sports Federation (FISU) held in the Rhine-Ruhr region of Germany from 16-27 July, achieving high results.

In this prestigious competition, which was attended by thousand of students-athletes from more than 130 countries, the Azerbaijani team won a total of 4 medals, including 2 gold and 2 silver, and took 24th place in the team standings.Our medal-winning athletes:

Judo -  Eljan Hajiyev ( 90kg) won a silver medal in his individual performance.

Note that with this result, Eljan Hajiyev won his second consecutive Universiade medal- bronze in 2023 and silver in 2025.

The AHIITA has been a full member and official partner of the International University Sport  Federation (FISU) since 1999. During this period, the Association continues to contribute to the development of the country’s sports by ensuring the preparation and participation of student-athletes in international competitions.

The Azerbaijani national team achieved historic success at the European School Boxing Championship held in Zlatibor, Serbia. Our team, which won 3 gold, 10 silver and 9 bronze medals in total, showed high results in the continental championship as the second Europa.

Four members of the AHIITA also performed successfully in this prestigious tournament and represented our country worthily:

Elnur Mammadov, a member of the AHIITA Mountaineering Team, successfully represented Azerbaijan at the international X-WATERS Volga open water swimming festival held in Nijniy Novgorod, Russia, on July 26, 2025.

As part of the event, Elnur Mammadov successfully covered the 5.5 – kilometer distance organized against the backdrop of the strong current of the Volga River and changeable weather conditions, demonstrating both his physical strength and high endurance.

It should be noted that Elnur Mammadov has previously achieved a number of international successes completed the Bosphorus and Dardanelles strait swimming marathons held in Turkey and is considered one of the most prestigious open water competitions in the world.

This result is both an individual achievement of Elnur Mammadov and a clear example of our country’s recognition in the international arena in the field of sports. As AHIITA, we congratulate our team member on this success and wish him new heights in his future sports activities.

The Baku European Judo Hopes Tournament, organized by the European Judo Union, at the Absheron Olympic Sports Complex, has successfully concluded. Representatives of the AHIITA honored our co8untry by distinguishing themselves with their determined struggles and high professionalism.

The following result were achieved in the U-13 age category:

Gulay Aghayeva (-32kg)  – 1st place

Ayla Mammadli ( -40kg) – 2nd place

The work of coach, honored coach Matanat Suleymanova is especially noted in these successful results. Her professional training and support created the conditions for our young athletes to succeed in the international arena.

A total of 436 athletes (364 boys, 72 girls) from 12 countries participated in the tournament. World and European level technical sessions were also organized as part of the competition.

The successes of our young people make us proud and we wish them success towards new heights.

The team of the Azerbaijan Sport Academy, representing our country at the European Universities Futsal Championship held in Zagreb / Croatia, achieved a great achievement. Our representatives won the championship by defeating the team of the University of Valencia, Spain, 7:2 in the final match. In addition, our team member Aghaseyid Gasimov was named the best goalkeeper of the tournament and was awarded an individual award. It should be noted that our team’s participation in the European Championship was organized by the Azerbaijan Student Football Federation Public Union, with the support of AFFA, the AHIITA and the Trade Union of Science and Education Workers and the Azerbaijan Sport Academy. The AHIITA has been a member of the European Student Sport Association (EUSA) since 2008. Our athlete Eljan Hajiyev (90kg), who competed at the 32nd World Summer Universiade in Germany, won a silver medal!

Azerbaijani youth have achieved another international success. The team of the Azerbaijan Sport Academy, representing our country at the European Universities Futsal Championship held in Zagreb / Croatia, showed high results and made it to the final.

Our team, which faced the Spanish team in the semi-final stage, demonstrated a determined and superior game and won with a score of 5:1 and advanced to the final of the competition. This result is considered one of the important achievements in the history of Azerbaijan futsal at the level of higher education institutions.

This success of our team is a clear example of  strength and will be demonstrated not only in the field of sports, but also in the international arena by Azerbaijani students.

We wish the team of  Azerbaijan’s Sport Academy success in the final stage. The spirit, unity and determination they showed prove that they fully deserve this success.

The team of the Azerbaijan Sport Academy , which represented our country at the European Universities Futsal Championship held in Zagreb, Croatia, was remembered for its successful performance.

The team, which won the Azerbaijan Students League, won 5:4 over the French representative in the quarter-finals and qualified for the semi-finals of the tournament.

It should be noted that in European Universities, the  Futsal  Championship is one of the most important tournaments in terms of developing sports among students, exchanging international experience and strengthening friendly relations.

On July 19 within the framework of the “Gabala- Sport Capital 2025” project, a hiking trip to the Gazan Waterfall located in the village of Vandam, Gabala region, was organized by the Azerbaijan Mountaineering Federation.

The main goal of the event was to promote a healthy lifestyle, increase environmental awareness and introduce the natural beauties of the region. The route, which started from the village of Vandam, convered a distance of approximately 6 kilometres,covering forested and mountainous areas. Safety rule were fully observed during the hike, which was rated as moderately difficult.

Faig Mursagulov and Etibar Mammadov mountaineering trainers of the AHIITA ,actively participated in the hike and demonstrated their professionalism.

It should be noted be noted that the AHIITA team was the first group to successfully complete this route with difficult terrain! During the walk, participants were informed about respectful approach to nature and ecological rules of behavior. This project, carried out with the accompaniment of experienced guides, is a valuable contribution to the development of the region’s sports and ecotourism potential.

The European University Futsal Championship among students in being held in Zagreb / Croatia , from July 17 to 25.

Our Country is represented in the championship by the team of the Azerbaijan Sport Academy, the winner of the 2024-2025 season of the Azerbaijan Student League.

The team representing our country left for Croatia on July 16.

In the first match, our team defeated the Swiss team with a score of 5:1.

In the second match, the Azerbaijan Sport Academy won against the University of Split in Croatia with a score of 6:2. It should be noted that the team’s participation in the European Championship is organized by the Azerbaijan Student Football Federation Public Union and supported by the Azerbaijan Football Federations Association, the Trade Union of Science and Education Workers, and the Association of the AHIITA.

The PamirExpedition2025 project, led by the mountaineering coach of the AHIITA , Shirkhan Mammadov, is continuing successfully.

The goal of this magnificent expedition is to conquer Lenin Peak (7134m) located in the Pamir mountain range of Kyrgyzstan.The first two stages of the acclimatization program within the expedition have been successfully completed:

*In the 1st stage, the participants made technical ascents to two separate peaks higher that 4000 meters, ensuring the body’s adaptation to altitude.

*In the 2nd stage, a march to Camp 1 located at 4400 meters took place and a successful acclimatization ascent to Yukhin Peak ( 5130 m) was carried out.

These acclimatization stages play a key role in the safe and planned continuation of the expedition. The body’s adaptation to altitude and physical fitness are the guarantee of a safe ascent to the summit.

The expedition continues as planned with a professional approach and high-level preparation. Although the path to the summit is not easy, Shirkhan Mammadov and his team are ready to overcome the challenges ahead with determination, willpower and experience.

We wish all participants and coach Shirkhan success! Steps are being taken to raise the flag of Azerbaijan at an altitude of 7134 meters!

The “Gompatriot Children” international Chess Tournament, held on July 16-17, brought together children from the Turkish world and created a memorable atmosphere of sports and friendship. The tournament was organized in accordance with FIDE rules with the participation of 6-15 year old chess players from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan.

The distinguished guests who spoke at the opening ceremony of the tournament spoke about the importance of this initiative, emphasizing  its important role in the intellectual development of young people and their acquisition of international experience.

In the final round our team won a gold medal in the ribbon program and silver medal in the program with 3 balls and 2 hoops.

Athletes Yelizaveta Luzan, Darya Sorokina, Kamilla Aliyeva, Laman Alimuradova and Gullu Aghalarzada finished this prestigious competition with a total of 2 gold and 1 silver medal.

This success once again proves that Azerbaijani Rhythmic Gymnastics is developing on an upward trajectory in the world arena. We would like to thank our athletes, their dedicated coaching staff and everyone who contributed to achieving this success!

Our country is represented by the team of the Azerbaijan Sports Academy at the 14th European Universiade FFutsal Championship, which will be held in Zagreb, Croatia, from July 17 to 26, 2025.

The Championship is organized by the European University Sports Association (EUSA). The participation of Azerbaijani teams in this prestigious tournament is supported by the AHIITA, as an official partner of EUSA, contributes to the active representation of our youth on international sports platforms.

According to the results of the draw held on July 17, the team of the Azerbaijan Sports Academy will face the following universities in Group C:

The Azerbaijan Beach Wrestling Championship among juniors and adults, held at the Beach arena in Baku on July 17-18 has ended. Athletes of the AHIITA successfully performed in the competition and achieved high results.

At the same time, the outstanding young athletes based on the results achieved will be involved in the preparatory processes for the Summer youth Olympic Games to be held in Dakar, Senegal in 2026.
