The Azerbaijan Sports Academy (ASA) futsal team, representing Azerbaijan at an international tournament organized by the Azerbaijan Student Football Federation (ATFF) with the support of the Azerbaijan Trade Union Sports Organizations Association (AHİİTA), the Republican Committee of the Education and Science Workers' Trade Union (ETİHİ), the Association of Football Federations of Azerbaijan (AFFA), and the Azerbaijan Sports Academy, continues its impressive campaign.
The European Universities Games – Salerno 2026, organized by the European University Sports Association (EUSA), began on 15 July in Salerno, Italy, bringing together student-athletes from universities across Europe.
During the group stage, the Azerbaijan Sports Academy secured three victories in four matches, suffering only one defeat, and advanced to the quarter-finals as group winners.
In the quarter-finals, ASA defeated Portugal's Polytechnic Institute of Leiria by 3–1, earning a place in the semi-finals.
The Azerbaijani side will face Spain's University of Seville in the semi-finals. The match will kick off on 23 July at 21:30 (Baku time).
The European Universities Games – Salerno 2026 will conclude on 25 July. A total of 20 university futsal teams from across Europe are competing for the championship title.
