The first international futsal tournament for the “Cup of the Organization of Trade Unions of Turkic States” (TURKIC CUP 2026) was held in Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan.
The tournament was attended by trade union teams from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Türkiye and Uzbekistan, which are members of the Organization of Trade Unions of Turkic States (OTUTS). The tournament was organized with the aim of strengthening friendship, brotherhood and solidarity, expanding cooperation among trade unions and promoting a healthy lifestyle.
At the opening of the tournament, Satıbaldı Dauletalin, Chairman of the Federation of Trade Unions of Kazakhstan and Secretary General of OTUTS, delivered a speech and spoke about the significance of the competition, its contribution to strengthening ties among trade unions and developing mutual cooperation, and wished success to the participating teams.
Sahib Mammadov, Chairman of the Azerbaijan Trade Unions Confederation and Vice President of OTUTS, in his speech emphasized that the friendly and brotherly relations of the Turkic states are dynamically developing in all areas thanks to the wise policy and political will of the heads of state.
It was noted that relations among the trade unions of our countries, which share a common history and national and cultural values, are also gradually deepening. Emphasizing the special importance of the tournament in terms of friendship and solidarity, the Chairman of the Confederation highlighted the importance of continuing such projects in the future.
The tournament then started. The competition, which lasted for two days, was held in an interesting and sporting atmosphere.
At the conclusion of the tournament, cups, medals and gifts were presented to the winning teams.
