The Baku City Championship and Championship among both adults and U-20 youth in judo at the Absheron Olympic Sports Complex ended in a tense competition.
161 judokas from 29 clubs and sports societies in 14 weight categories participated in the Baku City Championship among adults. The main goal of the tournament was to select athletes who will participate in the national championship based on quotas. In the +78 kg weight category, AHIITA representative Zeynabkhanim Asadova confidently performed and took 1st place and won a gold medal.
180 judokas from 28 clubs and sports societies took to the tatami in the U-20 Baku City Championship. The main goal of the championship was to select athletes who will qualify for the national championship. Murad Huseynguliyev, representing AHIITA in the +100 kg weight category, rose to 2nd place with his successful performance and won a silver medal.
