Today, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Azerbaijan Wrestling Federation (AWF), the Association of Trade Unions Sports Organizations of Azerbaijan (AHIITA), and Arkoz Gazakh Cement Plant LLC.
The event took place in the Gazakh District, which has been selected as the Sports Capital of 2026. The memorandum was signed by AWF Secretary General Parvin Piriyev, Acting Director of AHIITA Fikrat Hajiyev, and Director of Arkoz Gazakh Cement Plant LLC Murat Çağlayan.
According to the agreement, the wrestling hall of the Gazakh City Stadium will undergo a major renovation and will be reopened as a regional wrestling center.
The memorandum also предусматривает поддержку initiatives aimed at developing sports infrastructure in the region, organizing sports events, tournaments, and social projects jointly. It also includes encouraging the participation of plant employees, trade union members and their families in sports activities, promoting a healthy lifestyle, and preparing joint initiatives within the framework of corporate social responsibility to attract youth and teenagers to sports.
Additionally, the parties agreed to provide mutual support in information and promotion activities and to implement other joint projects aimed at strengthening cooperation.
