Successful Performance of Our Greco-Roman Wrestles at the U-20 Azerbaijan Championship

Turan Dashdemirov, a member of the AHIITA , was remembered for his successful performance at the U20 World Championship held in Samokov, Bulgaria, from August 17 to 24. Our athlete, competing in the 55 kg weight category in Greco-Roman wrestling, confidently advanced to the final match. Turan Dashdemirov, who lost to Iranian Payam Balutaki with a score of 3:5 in the decisive match, was awarded the silver medal of the World Championship. The work of his personal coach, Honored Coach Akif Aliyev, should also be especially emphasized in this success. Ali Nazarov who made Azerbaijan and AHIITA proud with his magnificent performance at the U-17 World Championship, was solemnly welcomed today at Heydar Aliyev International Airport.

Ali Nazarov, who competed in the 60 kg weight category at the World Championship held in Athens, Greece from July 28 to August 3, defeated the representative of Kyrgyzstan in the final and won the first gold medal for the Azerbaijani team in the World Cup. The young champion was greeted with great enthusiasm at the airport by the leadership of the AHIITA, representatives of the sports community, coaches, teammates and media. A wreath, the symbol of the winner, was placed around Ali’s neck, our national flag was waved, and congratulations were heard. During the event, the AHIITA leadership congratulated the young athlete on this historic victory and emphasized that the future of Azerbaijani wrestling is bright in his example. At the same time, thanks were also expressed to his personal coach Azer Huseynov, who played a special role in the development of the champion.

At  the U-17 World Championship held in Athens, Greece from July 28 to August 3, the Greco-Roman wrestling representative of the AHIITA  Ali Nazarov (60 kg ) won the title of world champion with a magnificent performance!In the final match, Ali fought confidently against the representative of Kyrgyzstan Amangeldi Ysakbayev and won the first gold medal for the Azerbaijani national team at the U-17 World Championship with a 6;1 victory. We would like to express our special gratitude to Ali Nazarov’s personal coach Azer Huseynov for his support and hard work in this success.

At the U-20 European Championship held in Caorle, Italy, athletes of the AHIITA, Tural Ahmadov (63kg) and Turan Dashdemirov (55kg) were awarded silver medals.

Tural Ahmadov advanced to the final by defeating the Greek representative in the semifinals with a score of 11:1.

In the final match, he lost to his Russian opponent and took second place.

Turan Dashdemirov, after defeating the Ukrainian athlete, lost to his Russian opponent in the final match, which ended in a 1:1 draw, according to the “first point” principle, and won the silver medal.

Ali Nazarov a wrestler of the AHIITA won a silver medal by advancing to the finals in the 60 kg weight category at the U-17 European Championships held in Skopje, North Macedonia.

AHIITA’s wrestler Tural Ahmadov (65kg) won a silver medal at the traditional “Champions” tournament among youth U20 in Greco-Roman wrestling held in Antalya / Turkey.

Turan Dashdemirov a representative of AHIITA, won a silver medal with a spectacular performance at the “Champions” tournament for Greco-Roman wrestling among youth U20 that started on 6 May in Antalya / Turkey.

The Public Union of the Azerbaijan Trade Unions Sport Organizations Association  took third place in the team score with 69 points in the Greco-Roman wrestling competitions of the U-17 National Wrestling Championship held at the Astara Olympic Sports Complex.

The first- ever U-17 National Wrestling Championship held at the Astara Olympic Sports Complex has concluded. On the last day of the competition, the winners of the Greco-Roman wrestling categories of 48, 55, 65, 80 and 100kg were determined.

Young wrestlers representing the Public Union of the Azerbaijan Trade Unions Sports Organizations Association also performed successfully.

On the third day of the U-17 national championship held at the Astara Olympic Sports Complex, the winners of the Greco-Roman wrestling events in the 45, 51, 60, 71 and 92 kg weight categories were determined. AHIITA wrestlers showed  high results on this difficult day of competition.

The wrestler of the Public Union of the Azerbaijan Trade Unions Sport Organizations Association Zohrab Safarov (85kg) took a place at the school competition in Zlatibor (Serbia) distinguished himself in all Greco-Roman wrestling bouts winning the gold medal.

Athletes of the Public Union of the Azerbaijan Trade Unions  Sport Organizations Association achieved high results at the National Championship in U-15 Greco-Roman Wrestling was  held on March 5-6 at the Ganja Sports Palace.

The third day of the U-20 Azerbaijan Championship in Greco-Roman wrestling held at the Absheron Olympic Sports Complex was remembered with successful results for our young athletes. They demonstrated a high level of preparation and earned a place on podium.

In the 55 kg weight category, Joshgun Hajiyev was awarded third place.

In the 63 kg weight category, Tural Ahmadov took first place, and Ali Seyidalili took third place.

In the 72 kg weight category, Khalid Hasanov took third place.

In the 82 kg weight category, Javidan Nahmatov took first place, and Mahammad Ahmadov took third place.
