A meeting was held at the Azerbaijan Trade Unions Confederation (AHIK) with Madina Sadiqova, a coach-instructor of the Azerbaijan Trade Unions Sports Organizations Association (AHIITA), who won a gold medal in the 55 kg weight category at the European Karate Championship.
During the meeting, Confederation Chairman Sahib Mammadov emphasized that the development of sports and the promotion of a healthy lifestyle are among the key priorities of the socio-economic development strategy successfully implemented under the leadership of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mr. Ilham Aliyev.
It was noted that AHIK also supports this social policy by consistently implementing measures aimed at increasing mass participation in sports.
It was reported that in 2025, AHIITA athletes won a total of 306 medals in various competitions. The gold medal won by Madina Sadiqova is another major achievement for Azerbaijani sports. She also became the first Azerbaijani female karate athlete to win the title of Senior European Champion.
It was stressed that this achievement of the AHIITA karate coach-instructor is a success both for Azerbaijani sports and for the trade union family.
European champion Madina Sadiqova shared the joy of her victory and spoke about her sporting career. She noted that the extensive opportunities created by the state for athletes in Azerbaijan, as well as the support provided by AHIITA, have played an important role in her professional development.
Madina Sadiqova expressed her gratitude for the attention and care shown to her and stated that she would continue to work diligently to raise the Azerbaijani flag high at future international competitions.
