Our athlete Govhar Beydullayeva showed high results and took second place in the women’s competition of the Azerbaijan Chess Championship. At the end of the matches held in a tense competition, she was awarded the silver medal of the championship.

Successful performance of AHIITA representatives at the “Compatriot Children” international chess tournament

The “Gompatriot Children” international Chess Tournament, held on July 16-17, brought together children from the Turkish world and created a memorable atmosphere of sports and friendship. The tournament was organized in accordance with FIDE rules with the participation of 6-15 year old chess players from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan.

The distinguished guests who spoke at the opening ceremony of the tournament spoke about the importance of this initiative, emphasizing  its important role in the intellectual development of young people and their acquisition of international experience.

Among the speakers:

*Vilayat Valiyev – Rector of Azerbaijan Technical University

*Hilal Salmanov- Sector Director of the Ministry of Science and Education

*Jamaladdin Guliyev- Advisor to the Chairman of the AHIK

*Fikrat Sideifzadeh- Head coach of the Azerbaijan Chess Federation, International- Class Arbiter.

*Gulnar Mammadova – Grandmaster, Member of the Azerbaijani Women’s Chess Team.

The students of the Chess and Intelligence Games Section of the Association of Trade Unions Sports Organizations of Azerbaijan (AHIITA) successfully performed in the competition!

*In the RAPID (10+5) stage of the tournament:

*Zavir  Hajizadeh- 2nd place

*Honored coach- Inara Topchiyeva

*In the RAPID ( 3+2 ) stage:

*Huseyn Mammadzadeh – 4th place

*Coach - Gunduz Mammadov

*Ilyas Ali- 5thplace

*Coach – Maharram Jafarov

These successes have once again proven that our young chess players are ambitious and competitive at the international level. We would like to thank all our chess players who participated in the tournament and the coaches who prepared them, and we wish them even greater success in future competitions!
