The qualifying chess tournament dedicated to the Novruza Bayram has ended

The “Gompatriot Children” international Chess Tournament, held on July 16-17, brought together children from the Turkish world and created a memorable atmosphere of sports and friendship. The tournament was organized in accordance with FIDE rules with the participation of 6-15 year old chess players from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan.

The distinguished guests who spoke at the opening ceremony of the tournament spoke about the importance of this initiative, emphasizing  its important role in the intellectual development of young people and their acquisition of international experience.

Among the speakers:

*Vilayat Valiyev – Rector of Azerbaijan Technical University

*Hilal Salmanov- Sector Director of the Ministry of Science and Education

*Jamaladdin Guliyev- Advisor to the Chairman of the AHIK

*Fikrat Sideifzadeh- Head coach of the Azerbaijan Chess Federation, International- Class Arbiter.

*Gulnar Mammadova – Grandmaster, Member of the Azerbaijani Women’s Chess Team.

The students of the Chess and Intelligence Games Section of the Association of Trade Unions Sports Organizations of Azerbaijan (AHIITA) successfully performed in the competition!

*In the RAPID (10+5) stage of the tournament:

*In the RAPID ( 3+2 ) stage:

*Huseyn Mammadzadeh – 4th place

*Coach - Gunduz Mammadov

*Ilyas Ali- 5thplace

These successes have once again proven that our young chess players are ambitious and competitive at the international level. We would like to thank all our chess players who participated in the tournament and the coaches who prepared them, and we wish them even greater success in future competitions!

The coaches of the Chess and Intelligence  Games Department of the AHIITA , Honored coaches Allahverdiyev Khanlar and Topchiyeva Irana are participating in the “Baku Open 2025” International Chess Festival as referee.

This is a clear example of the international recognition and high trust of AHIITA’s experienced coaches in sport.

The II chess  qualifying tournament dedicated to Novruz Bayram organized by the Public Union of the Azerbaijan Trade Unions Sport Organizations  Association  has successfully ended. In the tournament, which was attended by 87 participants, chess players demonstrated their intellect and skills in various degree categories.

Tournament results:

VI degree:

1st place-Khalilzade Amil

2nd place- Aliyev Mubariz

3rd place- Mamizade Huseyn

III degree:

1st place- Aliyev Murad

2nd place- Mammadli Elmir

3rd place- Akbarli Huseyn

II degree:

1st place- Ojagli Farid

2nd place- Murvetova Nilufar

3rd place- Ismayilzade Huseyn

Based on the tournament results, the winners were awarded medals and diplomas. Certificates were presented to participants who met the degree standards.

The Rapid Tempo Tournament organized by the Public Union of the Azerbaijan Trade Unions Sport Organizations Association has successfully concluded. A total of 46 chess players participated in the tournament and the competition was organized in two categories:

 

Unrated players  ( 7 rounds, 21 participants)

Player of IV, III, II and higher classes (9 rounds, 25 participants)

At the end of the tournament,  certificates were presented to the winners.

A chess player of the Public Union of the Azerbaijan Trade Unions Sport Organizations Association Govhar Beydullayeva ,  distinguished herself with her successful performance at the international chess tournament dedicated  to the memory of Ganira Pashayeva. Based on the final results of the competition held in rapid and blitz, she took third place gaining 20 points.

 

Our athlete Govhar Beydullayeva showed high results and took second place in the women’s competition of the Azerbaijan Chess Championship. At the end of the matches held in a tense competition, she was awarded the silver medal of the championship.
