In the gym belonging to the Azerbaijan Trade Unions Sports Organizations Association (AHIITA), a subordinate organization of the Azerbaijan Trade Unions Confederation, conditions that meet modern requirements have been created for athletes to undergo high-level training.
Minister of Youth and Sports Farid Gayibov, Chairman of the Youth and Sports Committee of the Milli Majlis (Parliament) Shahin Ismayilov, Members of the Parliament Committee (MP’s), Heads of the Azerbaijan Trade Unions Confederation, as well as member and subordinate organizations, athletes and coaches got acquainted with the conditions created in the gym.
It was reported that there are three gyms that meet modern standards for training in wrestling, judo and boxing. The halls are equipped with the necessary sports equipment and other inventory. There are also showers, changing rooms, a kitchen, administrative and auxiliary rooms in the space. In total, new heating systems and air conditioners have been installed in the gym, which covers an area of 540 square meters, and all conditions have been created for the efficient organization of daily activities and training for both employees and athletes.
It should be noted that AHIITA implements projects aimed at promoting a healthy lifestyle among trade union members, effectively organizing leisure time, increasing the mass participation in physical education and sports, and organizes competitions in various sports.
Currently, AHIITA has chess and intelligence games, wrestling and physical training sections.
During the past period of 2025, the Association's athletes won a total of 246 medals in local and international competitions.
