The opening of a training course for trainers took place, which will operate in the regions in the field of cycling

As part of the cooperation between the Cycling Federation of Azerbaijan (AzVIF) and the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan, a new project was launched, which will contribute to the development of cycling in the regions. Speaking at the event, the first vice-president of the Azerbaijan Cycling Federation, Sahib Alekperov, emphasized that this project is of particular importance for the future of cycling in our country, and spoke about the tasks facing the trainers: "The main goal of these trainings is to support the development of sports in the regions and create conditions for the training of qualified trainers. This is of great importance both for the physical health of children and youth, and for the effective organization of their leisure time. I am sure that the coaches participating in the courses will play an important role in attracting young people to sports in the future and discovering new talents. Deputy Minister of Science and Education Hasan Hasanly noted that cycling is also important from the point of view of a healthy lifestyle: "The development of this sport among schoolchildren and young people will have a positive effect on both their physical and psychological health. The courses opened by us will contribute to the formation of professional personnel in the regions and the introduction of a new generation to sports in the future. In addition, the project will have a positive effect on the recognition of regions. Elnur Mammadov, head of the sports department of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, touched on the importance of training new trainers. He noted that similar projects will give a big boost to mass sports in the regions. The executive director of the National Anti-Doping Agency of Azerbaijan (AMADA) Tahmina Tagizade said that the employees of her organization will hold a special seminar on anti-doping rules for trainers participating in the courses, and are always ready to support them in this direction. Trainers participating in the courses will receive both theoretical knowledge and practical skills. Special attention will be paid to training methods in accordance with international standards, methods of working with athletes and safety rules in cycling. Certificates will be issued to trainers who have successfully completed the 12-day training course and passed the exam. At the initial stage, this pilot project will cover the cities of Ganja and Sumgayit, as well as Gabala, Guba, Agdam Agstafinsky, Goranboy, Tovuz, Goygol and Gadabay districts. In these regions, special cycling sections will be created in sports schools of the Ministry of Science and Education. Trainers with higher education, selected by the Ministry together with the Cycling Federation of Azerbaijan and who want to work in the field of cycling, will work in specially designated places in the Olympic sports complexes of the Ministry of Youth and Sports in these regions. They will receive a salary from the Ministry as full-time employees of the Ministry of Science and Education and will be accountable for their activities both to the Cycling Federation of Azerbaijan and to the relevant bodies of the Ministry. The Federation allocated 20 bicycles for each of the sections, a total of 200 pieces. In the near future, it is planned that this experience will be spread to other cities and regions of the country, and the relevant structures of the Confederation of Trade Unions of Azerbaijan will join this project.

The Azerbaijan Trade Union Confederation Recently held a meeting with the futsal team of Azerbaijan Sport Academy, which won the European Futsal Championship.

At the event the Chairman of the AHIK , Sahib Mammadov congratulated the athletes and their coaches on their determination and winning the gold medal at the European Universities Futsal Championship, and wished them new victories it was noted that the youth and sports policy, founded by the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev, is currently being successfully continued under the leadership of Mr. President Ilham Aliyev. As a result of the purposeful policy, Azerbaijan is considered one of the leading countries in the world in terms of the level of development of sports and the Olympic movement. The Chairman of the AHIK emphasized that the success achieved is a clear example of the state’s care for sports in our country. Deputy Minister of Science and Education of Azerbaijan, President of the Public Union of the Azerbaijan Student Football Federation Firudin Gurbanov noted the role of the AHIK in the team’s success. The Deputy Minister emphasized that the victory of the Academy’s  futsal team over strong rivals In the championship held in Croatia was a historic success. Advisor to the Rector of the Azerbaijan Sports Academy, Vice- President of the National Olympic Committee Farid Mansurov spoke about the attention and care shown to sports in our country and the conditions created for the development of this field. Team members shared their impressions of the championship at the meeting. Futsal players expressed their determination to represent our country worthily in the upcoming competitions and achieve new successes. It should be noted that the futsal team of the Azerbaijan Sport Academy won the tournament, overcoming all its rivals, at the European Universities Futsal Championship held among students in Zagreb, Croatia. Our team player Aghaseyid Seyidov was named the best goalkeeper of the championship. Our team’s participation in the European Championship was organized by the Azerbaijan Student Football Federation Public Union With the support of the AHIK, the AHIITA, the Trade Union of Science and Education Workers, as well as the Azerbaijan Sport Academy and the Association of Azerbaijan Football Federation.

Azerbaijani Team Successfully Completes 32nd Summer Universiade

The Azerbaijani team represented our country well at the 32nd Summer Universiade organized by the International University Sports Federation (FISU) held in the Rhine-Ruhr region of Germany from 16-27 July, achieving high results.

In this prestigious competition, which was attended by thousand of students-athletes from more than 130 countries, the Azerbaijani team won a total of 4 medals, including 2 gold and 2 silver, and took 24th place in the team standings.Our medal-winning athletes:

Rhythmic gymnastics group exercise team Composition: Laman Alimuradova, Gullu Aghalarzada, Darya Sorokina, Kamilla Aliyeva and Yelizaveta Luzan.

All around – gold medal

Ribbon- gold medal

Composition with 3 balls and 2 hoops – silver medal

Judo -  Eljan Hajiyev ( 90kg) won a silver medal in his individual performance.

Note that with this result, Eljan Hajiyev won his second consecutive Universiade medal- bronze in 2023 and silver in 2025.

The AHIITA has been a full member and official partner of the International University Sport  Federation (FISU) since 1999. During this period, the Association continues to contribute to the development of the country’s sports by ensuring the preparation and participation of student-athletes in international competitions.

As the AHIITA we sincerely congratulate all our medal-winning athletes and their coaching staff, and wish them greater success in the upcoming competitions.

A meeting with students was held within the framework of the project “Play sports, Live healthy”

The AHIITA organized a meeting with students and youth under the motto “Play Sports, Live healthy”. The aim of the meeting  held at the Academy of Labor and Social relations of AHIK is to promote healthy lifestyle, increase interest in sports and support youth activity.

The event began with the performance of the National Anthem and a minute of silence in memory of national leader Heydar Aliyev and our martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the territorial integrity of our country.

In this speech,  Orkhan Arabov, advisor of the chairman of AHIK, emphasized the successful sports policy for our state and the attention and care given to the development of physical education and sports. He also stated that our athletes have achieved success in prestigious international competitions.

Then Yusif Aghayev, the Acting Rector of the Academy, and Tural Gasimov , the Director of AHIITA, discussed the importance and perspectives of the project, spoke about the future plans of the project, the prospects for the development of sports, and the directions of closer cooperation with youth.

The two-time Paralympic champion, three-time world champion, eight time European champion, and the Honorable Labor Ambassador of AHIK, Ilham Zakiyev, along with the Vice President of the Azerbaijan Kickboxing Federation, Eduard Mammadov, who participated in the event, spoke about their sports careers and emphasized the importance of a healthy lifestyle.

The meeting continued with an interactive question and answer session. The youth addressed their questions to the guests and received useful advice.

At the end of the event, Ilham Zakiyev and Eduard Mammadov were presented with letters of gratitude on behalf of the Azerbaijan Academy of Labor and Social Relations staff for their activity and sharing their valuable experience with the youth.The organizers of the event noted that the “Play sports, live healthy” project will be ongoing and it is planned to organize various educational meetings in the future to cover a wider audience.
